The new exhibition by painter Daniel Balabán (1957) is the first exhibition to explore a previously unnamed theme in his work – distance. For Balabán, distance is a phenomenon that relates to various aspects of human existence, and so he loosely touches on not just physical but also emotional, mental, and spiritual distance. Through paintings from the past roughly five years, visitors to the exhibition can thus explore this particular segment of his work while also considering what distance can bring to (or take away from) our lives.
